The iPad doesn't need to be a computer

I'm sitting here typing this in Ulysses on my M1-based iPad Air with Magic Keyboard. I'm thinking about all of the words written in Apple media lamenting how the iPad/iPad OS doesn't have this or the iPad should do that. Obviously people are free to their opinions but in Apple coverage I think these folks not only get too much attention but they're just plain wrong. My opinion is if you want a "computer" get a computer. My opinion after using this iPad for several years with the Pencil and Magic Keyboard is that it's fine as it is.

When I use Ulysses I prefer to use it here vs. on my Mac. When I journal in Day One I prefer to use it here. These days most of my journaling is by hand in Notability here. Lots of my planning is on my "paper napkin" called Nebo...here. I accept the device for what it is. Does that mean it's perfect? Nope. But it's damned good and when I have tasks that need more power my MacBook Pro is right there waiting to be used.

We all use various apps for different uses why would it be any different than using devices? Not sure I'll ever understand trying to bend the iPad into a computer replacement. It just doesn't make sense to me.
